The first of its kind in Iran, Tehran Auction was launched in 2012 as an independent and private initiative to introduce the best of Iranian art ranging from established and emerging Iranian artists to Iranian art collectors and global audience.
"The Tehran Auction" is one of the largest centers for buying and selling artworks in Iran. It started working in June 2013 with the aim of presenting more modern and contemporary Iranian art to the global art audience and art collectors. Tehran auction events are held in two parts; summer and winter auctions; until today, 14 auction events have been held. The fifteenth edition of the Tehran Auction, with eighty works by Iranian artists, will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022, at the Azadi Hotel. In this auction, all pieces are classified in the category of modern art. On the whole, 8 sculptures, 69 paintings, 2 glassblowing artworks, and one engraving on linoleum will be presented for selling. Paintings can be classified into calligraphy, abstract and figurative categories. Participation in the auction ceremony is possible in the following three ways: A- The buyer can register and fill in the in-person bid form to participate in the auction. B- The buyer can register and fill in the absentee bid form to participate in the ceremony by telephone during the auction. C- The buyer can give a power of attorney to the auctioneer by registering and filling in the power of attorney bid form so that he can participate in the auction up to the desired amount.
