Statement:
This series explores the ancient concept of the “scapegoat” as a mechanism for transferring collective crisis, guilt, and disorder onto a designated body that is then removed or sacrificed, as discussed by James George Frazer in The Golden Bough.
In these works, the body is not an individual subject but a field of social forces, suspended between material presence and symbolic meaning.
Through layers of paint, wounds, and visual ruptures, the works reflect processes of symbolic transfer and question their persistence within contemporary systems of power.
Positioned between ritual and the present, the series suggests that the logic of sacrifice remains active within the collective unconscious of modern society.
