Statement:
At first glance, the phrase “The Hunters of the Simurgh” evokes a sense of epic legend. In classical Persian literature, the Simurgh is often depicted as a mythical, unattainable being.
Seen through a contemporary lens, it becomes a symbol of humanity’s highest and most sublime achievements.
The title Hunters of the Simurgh points to a universal human tendency throughout history: the relentless sacrifice of our most essential and noble accomplishments—a persistent drive toward self-destruction.
It is hard to imagine that humans might always march toward their own ruin, yet sorrowfully, they seem caught in a ritual of collective self-annihilation.
For fleeting, shallow desires, people risk everything, dismantling the very foundations of tomorrow in pursuit of ephemeral whims.
This exhibition stands as a testament to humanity’s global determination, united in its own undoing, striving to drag the Simurgh from its celestial heights.
