Auction date : 4 Nov 2024

This season’s Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art online sale, open for bidding from 21 October to 4 November, is led by a remarkable group of artworks from the Dalloul Collection, Beirut.

Formed by Dr Ramzi Dalloul and Saeda El Husseini and advanced by their son, Dr Basel Dalloul, the collection presents an immersive journey through modern and contemporary Arab art history.

The family’s decades of travel across the Arab world and deep relationships with artists have shaped a collection that boldly celebrates Arab artistic diversity and culture.

Highlights of the group include a rare portrait by Shaker Hassan Al Said from 1959, a facial landscape on paper by Marwan and Dia Al-Azzawi’s Kingdom of Delusion II.

The Levant is well represented with works by Tagreed Darghouth, Jumana El Husseini, Hussein Madi and Nabil Anani.

The various owner section of the sale includes works by exciting contemporary names, such as Hayv Kahraman, Manal Al Dowayan, Tala Madani, Timo Nasseri and Abdulnasser Gharem.

Works by modern masters at accessible price points include Abd Al-Hadi El-Gazzar, Mahmoud Sabri, Abdul Halim Radwi and Hafidh Al-Droubi.
