Mohsen Gallery was established in 2009 in the Zafar district, Tehran. It was founded with a contemporary approach under the management of Ehsan Rasoulof in memory of his photographer brother Mohsen Rasoulof.
Mohsen Gallery has redefined its exhibition space many times throughout the years and now the main exhibition space of the gallery is a relatively large hall on the minus one of the building. Since 2015 this gallery has established Mohsen's projects in the form of three exhibition spaces: patio, roof, and the gallery's yard with the aim of challenging the methods of artwork showcasing.
Mohsen Gallery organizes a series of group shows annually, among which are factory and episode annuals. The factory show series is dedicated to presenting new works by the gallery's artists that are either in progress or have been missed from the view of the audience in Iran as they were represented only in art fairs and international exhibitions. The episode show series is also dedicated to showing the works of young and emerging artists.
This gallery has always shown its interest to present works in newer media such as digital arts, video arts, and performances and one of the main activities in this field is the Tadaex annual. Tadaax, the annual digital art, began its activities in 2011 with the aim of opening new doors to interdisciplinary and digital art. The event hosts digital interactive installations, workshops, and multiple performances annually. In addition to holding shows, Mohsen Gallery has also been active in the field of publishing books and holding specialized meetings.
During its years of activity, Mohsen Gallery has participated in various art fairs such as Artissima, Contemporary Istanbul, PHOTOFAIRS Shanghai, Art Dubai, Volta Basel and etc.
