The exhibition is curated by Teodora Talhos and includes video artworks by four female artists originally from countries in the Middle East; Fatoș Irwen (Turkey), Halida Boughriet (Algeria/France), Simin Keramati (Canada/Iran) and Tahmineh Monzavi (Iran). The exhibition explores the reality of female artists working in conflict zones and the hardships they encounter working in totalitarian systems that condemn freedom of speech. Keramati will be showing three of her video installations; “Earth”, “Biopsy of a close memory” and “I am not a female artist from the Middle East in exile; I am an artist.”
