The Wanderer
Morteza Khosravi - Solo Show

13 days to the ending

12 Sep - 27 Sep, 2026

The Wanderer

Statement:

In The Wanderer, wandering is not about a particular person, but about a process that begins with observation and continues through painting.

Much of Morteza Khosravi’s work begins with images and details from everyday life. Some are photographed, others simply remain in his memory.

Over time, they shift and change before finding their way onto the canvas.

When Khosravi returns to these images, he does not try to recreate a specific moment.

Memory and time have already transformed them. Through colour, texture, light and shadow, and the movement of brush and palette knife, the image develops further and gradually moves away from its original form.

The exhibition brings together different parts of Khosravi’s practice, including figures and portraits, landscapes, still lifes, interiors and reflections.///

As viewers move between the works, they become wanderers themselves. Images that once existed in the artist’s mind are now seen through another gaze, allowing the wandering to continue.

Morteza Khosravi (b. 1988) graduated in painting from Marlik Noshahr University in 2012.

He is currently represented at Leila Heller Gallery in New York and had a solo exhibition there in April 2026.

His paintings have been showcased in numerous exhibitions in Iran and around the world, including at Artfair Beirut, Tyrgan Toronto, and the Iran Exhibition Minus 40, the Palazzo Bastogi Museum in Florence.

He has been an honorary member of the Institute of Visual Arts Development since 2010 in Iran.
