Statement:
Surface and volume are not two separate realms, but possibilities through which a problem takes form.
The line between them is not always clear or fixed; surface can tend toward volume, and volume can extend into surface. ///
Each can carry within itself the quality and potential of the other, and in this back-and-forth, one turns into the other, altering the shape of the work and its relation to the problem.
Surfacevolume brings together works that pursue the transformation, continuity, and redefinition of an idea through this encounter.
