Statement:

This exhibition, situated in the ninth decade of Parviz Habibpour’s life, is not limited to an opportunity for a formal analysis of his works. 

Rather, what becomes the subject of this research-based exhibition is the possibility of reading the relationship between the artwork, the artist, & the era in which they have existed—a relationship that, through a dialectical process, has continually influenced & shaped one another.///

The artwork may perhaps be understood not as an isolated product, but as a point of intersection between the concerns of its creator & the artist’s artistic existence, civic life, intellectual orientations, experiences, & historical-social simultaneities.

For this reason, by presenting a chronology of the artist’s life, this exhibition, without providing a predetermined answer, creates a framework in which the viewer can, for themselves, observe the meaningful relationships between the works & their historical, social, & geographical contexts.

To investigate Parviz Habibpour’s works from this perspective is therefore not merely an encounter with the past, but an attempt to understand how an idea persists over time; an idea that, across different periods, has found a new visual expression without losing its relationship to its fundamental questions.
