Statement:
Beyond seeing or touching the body, we remember it, conceal it, desire it, and at times fear it. Every body is a constellation of experiences, memories, limitations, and possibilities—a place where reality and imagination continually rewrite one another.
Today, more than ever before, the body exists under the gaze of images, observation, and representation.
We shape our bodies, alter them, and put them on display, while at the same time being influenced by the narratives imposed upon them by society, media, power, desire, and memory.
In this sense, the body is not a fixed entity, but a perpetual pendulum between desire and being.
The works in this exhibition approach this territory from different perspectives: the body as a home for experience, a ground for dreaming, a site of resistance, or an image moving back and forth between what it is and what it longs to become.
Within this space, imagination emerges as a force that expands the boundaries of the body and opens the possibility of other ways of being.
*Body and Imagination II* invites us to reflect on how bodies are not only lived, but also imagined—and how every act of imagination leaves its trace upon the body.
