Statement:

The silence and radiance of the marshes in Amirhossein Aali’s paintings provide an opportunity to contemplate a habitat defined by contrasting qualities. 

He reveals this enchanting calm and beauty through the use of pure and varied color palettes, without adhering to any realistic representation. 

Daylight transforms the marsh’s shimmering colors into an unattainable dream, and when night falls, an unsettling ambiguity casts its shadow over the waters.///

The lingering shadows of water lilies draw the viewer’s attention from the surface down toward an unseen and unfamiliar depth. 

It is as though with every glow of the sun and the moon, this mysterious phenomenon appears in a new form, and the stagnant, rippleless nature of the marsh acquires a soft and fluid character.

Imagining the lively motion within the depths, the surface image carries a repetitive order of plant species, without revealing any of the turbulence born from the movement below. 

Nevertheless, in rendering the marsh, the painter emphasizes less its calm and unmoving essence and instead presents a vision of life-giving brightness, illuminated through a mysterious method inherent to this natural entity.

This visual progression may be a retelling of an authentic human experience and longing in the outer world, with all its silences and tensions, sheltered within a symbolic language.
