Statement:

In continuation of his previous series, the works on display trace Abedinzade’s ongoing pursuit of a personal visual language.

A persistent interest in drawing from the human figure, portraiture, and still life runs through his work; yet what matters more than the subject itself is its composition within the frame.///

Through the dynamic shifting of subjects within a unified visual language, he aims to expand the formal expression of the image—liberating subjects from imposed narratives to the visual language. In this way, the mind perceives them as a perceptual arrangement rather than a collection of separable subjects.

While his paintings engage in a dialogue with European and American Modernism, they deliberately avoid direct or superficial references to imagery from those eras.

Instead, each series emerges from an immersive engagement with the medium and from visual experiences rooted in direct observation.

Given Abedinzade’s view of art history as “a space for interpretation, not imitation,” it becomes a ground for visual translation into a more personal language.

“For me, painting—following the moment of observation, that is, the formation of an idea—is nourished by the possibilities of material and tools. In this sense, I rely less on technical skills and more on an immediate act of choosing the composition.”
