Statement:
The exhibition Phoenix Out of the Ashes (Facets of Transformations) is dedicated to the themes of rebirth, renewal and metamorphosis.
It offers a multi-layered look at the motif of the phoenix, which in many cultures is considered a symbol of eternal renewal. Based on the idea of decay and end, the works reflect the inevitable transience of life.///
Different materials such as humus, ash, ceramics and metal illustrate the fragility of life and the cycle of decay in nature and human creation.
Nine artists present their works in an inter-media concept that combines painting, video, installation and sculpture.
Phoenix Out of the Ashes not only offers a deep insight into the human experience of constant change, but also invites reflection on the cycles of life and nature.
The exhibition is divided into three thematic areas:
Ash to Ash, in which the darkness of decay points the way to a world of renewal and hope, Flame/Renewal, which shows works that symbolise the beginning of a new cycle of life with bright colours and dynamic shapes, and Myth/Reality, in which mythological aspects of renewal are combined with modern ones.
