Ramtin Zad is an artist whose work spans from large-scale paintings and installations to drawings, sculptures, and video art. Zad employs familiar mythical and fictional characters such as Don Quixote, Romeo & Ju- list, and Pinocchio to highlight the struggles of transition to the modern-day in search for the true nature of reality. As a contemporary artist, for the past three decades, Zad’s creative and imaginary work restates the story of the human condition teeming with humor, tragedy, lies, and romance. While engaging with both historical and contemporary narratives, Zad brings human and non-human figures into play; rendering subject sects he paints a quality time-listlessness. His work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally.///
Ramtin Zad, born in 1984, in Tehran, Iran graduated in Graphic Design yet continued a career in Fine Arts. Based in Tehran, the wild and aggressive features of the urban city and modern life can be reinterpreted in his signature bold brushstrokes and the explosion of colors. As a contemporary sto- storyteller he uses mythical and other fictional characters and elements to transport the viewer into his imaginary world, retelling the story of the perpetual battles and every- day struggles of man, which continue on to this day from the past. His obsession with the concept of timelessness can be observed in his recurring themes of resurrection, life, and death. He is constantly motivated by nature, naming it his “number one source of inspiration”.
With numerous solo and group ex-exhibitions around the globe, he as- aspires to become one of the most influential artists in the region. Exhi- both nationally and interna- tionally in private collections and art galleries in Tehran, Basel, Dubai, Kuwait, London, Monte Carlo, New York, and Amsterdam. Also in in- international art fairs such as the Bei- jing Art Biennale, and Art Dubai.
