The Moody Center for the Arts at Rice University in Houston, Texas, was designed by renowned architect Michael Maltzan. In 2017, Moody won the Honor Award for Design from the AIA California Council. The architect's remarkable contemporary design, with bold geometric shapes and dazzling brightness, enhances interdisciplinary connections on the Rice University campus. The Moody Center for the Arts continuously seeks to encourage creative thinking and authentic expression, education, and the promotion of collaboration between the university and the community. This building includes an art gallery, a gallery for experimental art with a wooden floor for dance, a multimedia gallery for installations and video art, a theater with a capacity of 150 people, classrooms and workshops, and a library.
