69 days to the ending
19 Mar - 16 Aug, 2026
Statement:
In Bloom begins with the movement of plants, examining how plants were acquired, classified and circulated in the seventeenth century, and how the desire to grow, study and possess them shaped knowledge, culture and global exchange.
Featuring more than 100 works, from botanical paintings and drawings to historical objects and contemporary commissions, the exhibition follows the passion and ingenuity of early plant explorers while tracing the networks that shaped science, trade and consumption. ///
The exhibition closes with contemporary works that demonstrate how the impulse to study, protect and reinterpret the plant world continues to shape both scientific thinking and public imagination.
Anahita Norouzi’s contribution extends these concerns through her ongoing research into botanical histories, colonial extraction and the material traces of displacement.
