Kamrooz Aram’s Show at Galerie Mitterrand
05 Mar 2022Starting on September 9, Kamrooz Aram's show "Un Objet, Un Geste" (One Object, One Gesture) is displayed at Galerie Mitterrand until October 30, 2021. "Un Objet, Un Geste" is Aram's first solo show in Paris and includes different media such as painting, sculpture, collage, and drawing.
In this show, he builds a bridge between the European-American avant-grade style and non-western form of abstraction to examine the boundaries between art, artificial objects, and their presentation methods. His paintings and installations break down the hierarchy of aesthetics, persuading us to reconsider and rediscover these ideas. To Kamrooz Aram, the reason for using different media and combining them with one another is to reveal the mutual dependence between the object and the way it is presented.
Kamrooz Aram, born in 1978 in Shiraz, immigrated to the United States of America, where he studied fine arts at Columbia University. As a multimedia artist, Aram always shows the relationship between non-western traditional art and western modernism. He has participated in several shows, biennials, and art fairs and currently lives and works in Brooklyn.
