Conceived by the late Okwui Enwezor and curated by the Foundation’s Director Hoor Al Qasimi, Sharjah Biennial 15: Thinking Historically in the Present reflects on Enwezor’s visionary work, which transformed contemporary art and has influenced the evolution of institutions and biennials around the world, including the Sharjah Biennial. Sharjah Art Foundation announced a list of over 150 artists from more than 70 countries participating in the Sharjah Biennial 15. Presented at more than 16 venues across the emirate of Sharjah,  the Biennial features many never-before-seen works, including 30 major commissions. Free and open to the public, Sharjah Biennial 15 runs from February 7 through June 11, 2023, with opening week events from February 7 to February 12.
