30 Dec, 2024 - 31 Jan, 2025
The Ceramic Artists Association, with the support of the Visual Arts Directorate of the Ministry of Culture and in collaboration with the Institute for the Development of Contemporary Visual Arts, is organizing the 12th Iranian Ceramic Biennial in Tehran, set to run for three weeks in January 2025.///
With a focus on exploring the potential of the ceramic medium and emphasizing the personal expression of artists, this biennial adopts the theme of “Infiniteness.” This concept refers to the state or condition of being infinite and gains meaning when juxtaposed with finiteness. Throughout history, humanity has approached the physical and metaphysical worlds with a dual perspective. While finiteness provides a sense of security and order, helping to define events and realities, infinity, with its lack of boundaries and its evocation of an intangible existence, offers a realm of freedom and creativity for imagining and building new worlds. The 12th Biennial of Ceramic Art aligns itself with the transformations of contemporary society, striving to innovate and showcase diverse perspectives in modern ceramic art while drawing inspiration from local cultural roots and the social events that shape them.
In this biennial, two primary sections have been designed for exhibiting works: the “Ceramic Artists' Works” section and the “Curatorial Artworks” section. Additionally, two supplementary components outside the exhibition will include study sessions and educational tours.
