MAD (b. 1987, Tabriz), is a self-taught artist active in street art and mural painting since 2008. He lived and worked in Turkey for a period before returning to Iran. Working primarily with stencils and spray paint, he creates works informed by surrealism, science fiction, and symbolism. Alongside street-based works, His produces paintings on canvas and paper, and has presented his works in festivals, public spaces, and galleries. His works have been exhibited in Iran and internationally, including in the United States, the Netherlands, Norway, Turkey, and Indonesia. In 2023, his work “Iran: Burning for Democracy” was featured at the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony in Norway. Themes of peace and social issues recur in a number of his works
