The first episode of Tehran Art Fair, entitled “Open Paper”, will take place from December 5 to December 12, 2025.

This event focuses on materials and examines paper not only as a surface, but as an independent material in contemporary Iranian art.

In this edition, more than 40 galleries from Tehran, Mashhad, Semnan, Mazandaran, and Kashan will participate, along with professional design and illustration associations and art publishers. ///

The side programs of “Open Paper” include workshops and talks on the art economy, paper production and processing, archiving and conservation, as well as discussions on the role of design, printmaking, and paper-based arts across different generations.

“Open Paper” is the first in a series of material-focused episodes of Tehran Art Fair, an approach also seen in events such as Art on Paper New York and Drawing Now Paris.
