The sculpture in Mudam’s central hall, which recently entered Mudam’s collection, acts as an embraceof the museum’s vast, light-filled volumes. Installed on the green esplanade in front of the Museum Dräi Eechelen, the two sister sculptures shift the focal points of this panoramic landscape, strangely familiar in their forms and their invitation to approach. Visual, tactile and corporeal, the three Beliebte Stellen / Privileged Points embody formal and conceptual concerns with which we have come to associate Baghramian’s art in its reliance on an approach to sculpture as a protagonist that is necessarily fluid in relation to its context.
