Word Sculptures: Exploring the Fusion of Poetry and Visual Art

In Word Sculptures: Exploring the Fusion of Poetry and Visual Art I embark on a creative journey that bridges the realms of contemporary Persian poetry and visual expression. Inspired by the history of concrete poetry and the methods poets employ to abstract literature into visual forms, my aim was to distill poems into single words. Through a multistage elimination process, I carefully selected words that resonated deeply with each poem, often centering around the themes of time and space or loosely intertwining with these concepts.///

My artistic exploration delved into various techniques to give these chosen words an independent existence as semi-abstract subjects of visual art. My focus was on crafting a sense of presence and attention around them. Ultimately, I transformed these words into 3D versions, metamorphosing them into abstract sculptures that hold a tangible presence. As they took shape and claimed their physical space, I ventured further, creating spaces within them, drawing inspiration from the human body, and inviting viewers to immerse themselves in these living realms.

Through the creation of Word Sculpture, I engage in a conceptual exploration that intertwines the notion of space with the power of words. In this series, words are more than mere linguistic entities; they become spaces infused with meaning. To preserve the purity of this exploration, I chose to keep the original poems and poets anonymous, allowing viewers to focus entirely on the visual and conceptual journey of these semi-abstract creations.
