Founded in 1956, Asia Society is a nonpartisan, nonprofit educational institution with offices in Hong Kong, Houston, Los Angeles, Paris, Manila, Mumbai, New York, San Francisco, Seoul, Sydney, Tokyo, Washington DC and Zurich. It focuses on educating the world about Asia across the fields of arts, business, culture, education, and policy. The Asia Society's mission is to foster insight, encourage engagement, elevate regional voices, inform and educate new audiences, address complex – and where necessary – contentious challenges, engage in creative problem-solving, and help deliver real solutions for the benefit of all. As a global network of centers who share a common vision, museum actively collaborate with its centers and partners across Asia and the world. The Asia Society also provides its members an opportunity to become part of its global network to help shape a prosperous, sustainable, and secure future for all. The Asia Society Museum is host to both traditional and contemporary exhibitions, film screenings, literature, performing, and visual arts. The holdings include works from more than thirty Asian-Pacific countries including Hindu and Buddhist statuary, temple carvings, Chinese ceramics and paintings, Japanese art, and contemporary art.

The Museum is closed on the following holidays: New Years Day (early closure on Dec 31 at 2pm) July 4 Independence Day (early closure July 3 at 2pm) Election Day on November 5 Thanksgiving Day on November 28 (early closure November 27 at 2pm) Christmas Day on December 25 (early closure December 24 at 2pm)

Working days: Monday - Friday Off days: Saturday - Sunday
