Shirin Neshat to Attend the Exhibition "Force Majeure" 

A group exhibition entitled "Force Majeure" will take place at Tarble Arts Center from September 24 to December 4. Six artists are exhibiting their work in this exhibition, but the only Iranian artist attending is Shirin Neshat. The exhibition traces the history of video and technology as a medium because it reinforced the voice of feminist discourse through its different waves.
The significance of the title of the exhibition is threefold: It recognizes the demand for visibility as an important historical power; it indicates the ways in which nature and landscape are seen in these works; It acknowledges the contingency, As is common in contracts. In this exhibition, influential contemporary video and media works are displayed throughout Tarble Arts Center, even outdoors.
The Iranian multimedia artist Shirin Neshat was born in 1957 in Qazvin. In her work, women and sexuality are the main themes. There are also traces of religion, politics, and identity concerns in her work. She immigrated to America in 1975 and Received her M.F.A. at the University of California, Berkeley in 1982.
