NFT Versions of Works by Great Artists to be sold at State Hermitage Museum

In Russia, the State Hermitage Museum has announced it will offer a number of its NFT paintings on the Binance online marketplace in late August, including works by great artists such as Leonardo Da Vinci, Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, and Wassily Kandinsky. Two NFT editions will be made of each work, with one of them for sale and the other to remain in the museum collection. As a result of cryptocurrency transactions being legalized in Russia, this event took place.

According to a statement by the general director of the Hermitage: "an important stage in the development of the relationship between person and money, person and thing,"adding that NFTs "create democracy, make luxury more accessible,"

It will be sold four NFT editions of works by artists mentioned above: Leonardo's Madonna Litta, Judith (ca. mid-1490s.), van Gogh's Lilac Bush (1889), Wassily Kandinsky's Composition VI (1913), and Monet's Corner of the Garden at Montgeron (1877).
