Rokni Haerizadeh at the Frye Art Museum

The group exhibition "Recent Acquisitions in Contemporary Art" will run from September 11th until January 23th 2022 at the Frye Museum in Washington. The show features 7 works by local, national, and international artists.

The presence of these 7 works together, well reflects the insight of the museum's exhibition. Each of these works separately develops narratives about media and genres such as painting, landscape, and portraiture. These media and genres are associated with collections in the Frye Museum in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. These works use a wide range of aesthetic strategies to ask a series of critical questions. Issues such as the forgetting of the transatlantic slave trade, colonialism, and immigration are some of these themes. In other works, we can also see how fashion, media, and technology change our thoughts and ideas.

Rokni Haerizadeh is the only Iranian artist among the other artists at this event. In some of his works, he has drawn characters with different human bodies and heads. His work in this event is in the same category. Haerizadeh has participated in countless shows, art fairs, and biennials.
