Arash Hanaei's Show at Poush Manifesto Gallery

From September 24 to October 24, Arash Hanaei's artworks entitled "An Archeological Study of a Star" are presented at  Poush Manifesto Gallery in Clichy, France.  Curated by Alexandre Colliex, the photographs showcased in "An Archeological Study of a Star" are taken from abandoned European cities, particularly Paris. This series seeks to capture the urban commotion on the flattened surface of the photograph to emphasize the uncanny alienation at the core of both the urban environment and the photographic image.

Born in 1978 in Tehran, Arash Hanaei received his bachelor's degree in photography from the Faculty of Arts and Architecture of Islamic Azad University, and currently lives and works in both Tehran and Paris. Hanaei has always used a combination of different media and techniques in his works. In his photograph collection "Capital", which started in 2009, he has autopsied the city of Tehran consecutively and has questioned the post-war public space developments.
