53 days to the ending
7 Sep - 1 Dec, 2024
15th Gwangju Biennale, Pansori - a soundscape of the 21st century - proposes a trip to contemporary space with artists presenting works that reflect new spatial conditions and the Anthropocene phenomenon throughout Gwangju. The exhibition takes the form of an opera structured with musical metaphors, revealing the essence of pansori in the form of a visual symphony composed by artists from around the world.
The exhibition title pays homage to 'Pansori', a Korean musical form that emerged in the 17th century and means 'sound of public places' or 'voice of the common people'.
