Glasgow International 2024
Glasgow International Biennale

7 Jun - 23 Jun, 2024

Glasgow International is Scotland's biennial festival of contemporary art. Every two years the festival presents an array of artists' projects across Glasgow, celebrating and amplifying the city's identity as a vibrant and distinctive center for artistic production, presentation and cultural organizing.

Glasgow International 2024 will take place from Friday 7 – Sunday 23 June 2024. The festival will include artists' projects presented around the city of Glasgow in established arts organization, artist-run spaces, and temporary locations.///

Featuring exhibitions, performances, publications and interventions, the programme is a collective endeavour developed by Glasgow-based organizations and independent organizers, and the Glasgow International team. The festival will also include a number of 'gatherings' - social occasions that will give space to particular themes and concerns connecting different projects in the programme.

Monuments for the Presents is an open-ended project that invites dialogue around diverse ideas of equality and public space. The works on display were co-created by participants from the Maryhill Integration Network Art Group with artist and heritage and art curators Paria Goodarzi, Mia Gubbay and Francesca Zappia.

Farang is an installation of moving image and sculpture by Mina Heydari-Waite that traces a semi-fictional journey across Iran. Using original family footage shot on trips to the country in the early 1990s, Mina combines a personal archive with source materials concerning 19th and early 20th century British presence in the region, reflecting on the interplay between familial histories and their wider socio-political frameworks.

It will be free to attend, with exhibitions and events taking place in established exhibition venues like Glasgow’s Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA) and Tramway, as well as alternative spaces and temporary sites. Check Glasgow Art Map for the latest exhibitions and events.
