3 Sep - 6 Sep, 2022
Kiaf SEOUL, the country’s longest-running art fair, was established in 2002 to develop the foundation of Korean art and introduce contemporary Korean art to the international audience. The fair demonstrated itself as an international art fair where visitors can experience globalized contemporary art and closely examine the trend in the art market.
Kiaf 2022 will take place from September 3 to September 6, with a VIP preview on September 2 at the COEX center in Gangnam district alongside Frieze Seoul. Kiaf SEOUL 2022 will bring together 164 galleries from 17 countries for its 21st edition. The fair’s participants include many of the country’s top galleries, many of which will also have booths in Frieze Seoul.
Kiaf will also launch a satellite fair, Kiaf Plus, that will take place at the Seoul Trade Exhibition & Convention, about a 20-minute transit ride from Coex. That fair will focus on ambitious and experimental presentations across diverse genres and practices, including new media art and art NFTs that are less commonly presented at art fairs. Kiaf Plus, which will host its VIP preview on September 1 and run September 2–5, has lined up 73 galleries.
